Parkinson's Fundraising Ride: 2er Etape – Langon to Agen

Today's start:  Jim and Carole outside
Claude Darroze, Langon

The team: Jim, Lynda (star support) and Carole

Following a very good stay including a fine dinner at Claude Darroze on Monday night, we set off from Langon just after 8.30 am this morning. heading out through Saint Pierre de Mons and onto Castets-en-Dorthe, the start of the Garonne Canal and where we picked up the cycle track that took us all the way to Agen. Much of the time there were lots trees, mainly plane trees, that provided very welcome shade on an increasingly hot day.

Unfortunately as we approached Agen there was less shade, so the end of the ride was pretty warm. We reached Agen and our hotel Résidence Astoria around 2.30pm.

Now we await the arrival of Max Poynter Hall, wine manager at St John, who has been let briefly off the leash by Trevor Gulliver to ride with us tomorrow.

Carole by canal – lovely light and cool shade on a hot day

We are delighted that our fundraising total has now reached £3986 – just shy of £4000. £6K is still our target.
